A work van that won't start on a job site doesn't just cost you a repair bill — it costs you the job. Here's the checklist we run on company vehicles in Bucks and Montgomery County to keep them out of the shop and on the road.
When a personal car breaks down, it's an inconvenience. When a work van breaks down, it's a missed appointment, an idle technician, and a customer who's now calling your competitor. Every item on this list is cheaper to catch on a scheduled visit than to fix on the side of the road — and most of it takes less time than the job you were about to miss.
Engine oil condition and level, coolant concentration and level, transmission fluid, and belt/hose condition. Low coolant on a hot route is how an engine overheats on the highway instead of in the shop parking lot.
Pad thickness, rotor condition, and fluid. Vans carrying tools or equipment stop harder on worn brakes than an empty commuter car — we check these more often on loaded work vehicles.
Tread depth, pressure, and uneven wear that points to an alignment problem. A blown tire on a service call costs you the call; a tread check costs five minutes.
Battery load test, charging system output, and a check of lights and wiring. Batteries fail without warning, usually on the coldest morning of the month — a load test catches a weak one before it leaves someone stranded.
A driver without working heat or defrost in January, or working A/C in July, isn't going to put in a full day. We test both every visit, not just in-season.
We track when each vehicle's safety and emissions inspection is due and flag it ahead of time so it doesn't lapse — a lapsed inspection can mean a vehicle isn't legally allowed on the road until it's fixed.
Commercial accounts get a dedicated fleet labor rate and bulk pricing on multi-vehicle work like A/C recharges or brake jobs across several vans at once. We'll build a rotating schedule so vehicles come in on your slow day instead of failing on your busy one, and we stagger PA state inspections across the year so your whole fleet doesn't come due the same month.
We're an official PennDOT safety and emissions inspection station and handle domestic and import cars, light trucks, and work vans — all in the same shop, with the same technicians, so your service history stays in one place instead of scattered across whoever had an opening.
